This Might Be Why Your PR Campaigns Fail!
If you haven't done the basics, you won't get coverage.

Hey Future PR Pro,
In this week’s newsletter, I want to break down a really important topic:
Does your brand look legitimate to journalists?
I get so many folks in the PR Academy who are trying to get PR when they should be trying to clean up their brand.
When you reach out to a journalist, the first thing they are going to do is Google you.
They look at your website.
They look at your social media.
They look at your product.
In that few minutes they take to dive into you, they already know whether or not they are interested in covering your story.
If your website looks like this, you will not get coverage.

If your social media is unprofessional, you might not get coverage.

Before you send out a PR pitch or a press release, you need to AUDIT your brand and your social channels.
Here are the questions you need to ask yourself:
Do I have a professional website?
Is my website responsive on mobile?
Do my social channels look professional?
Do my social channels have anything a reporter would find off putting?
Does my online presence say what I want to say about me?
Is there negative media that could prevent a reporter from covering me?
Is my product ready for the media?
If you answer no to these questions, you have work to do before you start trying to secure media coverage.
If you do not look legitimate, you will not get positive coverage.
I hope you find this audit helpful, if you are looking for more free PR advice, you can join the PR Academy which we have decided to keep as a free resource for our community members.
I hope you find this helpful.
Have a great weekend!
